Having loved music since childhood, he joined the school choir in secondary school and learned folk guitar, often enjoying singing while accompanying himself on the guitar. Ten years ago, he transitioned from working as a graphic designer to teaching design to at-risk youth at a correctional education school, while also serving as a counsellor.

After being introduced to African drumming, he experienced its versatility — beyond musical rhythm, it can also be used as music and play-based therapy to enhance physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. He studied African drumming under a Hong Kong disciple of Manding master Mamady Keïta. Inspired by the diversity and possibilities of African drumming, he is now a full-time African drumming and ukulele instructor.
