你對當舖有甚麼印象？是街角高掛的「押」字招牌，還是電影、電視劇裏才會出現的地方？
其實，當舖是一種傳統、古老而合法的借錢機制。以前的人把物件暫時抵押，換取現金周轉；一張當票，記下的不只是物件價值，也是一段生活需要。
今次，我們來到昔日「振安大押」舊址、如今的「壹當」社區共享空間。在舊當舖裏的咖啡店，我們會一起認識當舖的運作、文化與歷史，並透過 World Cafe 形式，輕鬆聊聊生活中的「押、存、贖、換」。
在昔日典當物件的地方，我們交換一點時間、好奇，以及對城市和生活的重新理解。

What comes to mind when you think of a pawnshop — the “pawn” sign, or scenes from films and TV dramas?
Pawnshops are a traditional and legal way of borrowing money, where people once pawned items for short-term cash needs. Each pawn ticket recorded not only an item’s value, but also a moment in someone’s life.
This time, we visit the former Chun On Pawn Shop, now Project House, a community space. In its café, we’ll explore pawnshop culture and history through a World Café conversation on “pawning, keeping, redeeming, and exchanging.”
In a place once used for pawning objects, we’ll exchange time, curiosity, and new ways of seeing the city and life.

World Café CAT是一個自發的社區計劃，透過在本地小店、空間舉辦不同主題的「世界咖啡館」(World Cafe) ，讓參加者參與討論，聆聽自己的想法、他人的故事，和凝聚大家的集體智慧之餘，發掘及支持社區空間的持續營運。由2023年12月開始，至今已舉辦超過75場活動。
World Café CAT is a self-initiated community project dedicated to organizing “World Café” events in local small businesses and community spaces. The project seeks to cultivate collective wisdom while supporting the sustainable and long-term development of these spaces. Since December 2023, more than 75 events have been convened.
